Google Adding New Feature To Google My Business To Help Local Businesses
Google has helped us grow our businesses in different ways, whether it’s through advertising on their platform, showing up on the map, or through a search engine query. This pandemic is no exception, as Google has stepped up to provide support during these difficult times- one of which is, adding a new feature to Google My Business called “Support Links”.
Businesses are now allowed to add donations and gift card links to their profiles in order to let customers support them during this hard time. Google is working in collaboration with PayPal and GoFundMe for donations and Square, Toast, Clover and Vagaro to link the gift cards of the businesses. Google is not charging any fee to clients or businesses while using this service. However, it is important to know that some partners can add service fees to their services.
Since the pandemic of COVID-19 continued impacting our daily lives, Google implemented these strategies to engage with our clients and provide them with gift cards that can be used later. Communities are the support of the local economy; this kind of measures can help local businesses to go along with this problem to maintain themselves in the market and let customers enjoy their products or services in a close future.
This new feature has been rolled out in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Ireland and many others will be added to the soon.
Here we show you the examples on how the process is done from setting these new features to a customer supporting your business in four steps:
