Professional Service Ads

Promote your agents, advisors, consultants, and professional services on Microsoft’s search engine page results.

Microsoft recently launched a beta version of their professional service ads. With this service, advertisers can better target and place advertisements during all customer journey stages.

For those with access to the beta pilot, this means:

  • More Volume
  • Richer Experience
  • Stronger Intent Matching
  • Time-saving Automation
  • Promotion at local, regional, or national level

Availability

It is currently available for US, Canadian, UK, Denmark, French, Australian, and Indian markets, with online entry points on desktop devices.

Current professional services available to be advertised in the beta pilot are:

  • Insurance Services
  • Real Estate Services
  • Tax Services
  • Doctors and Clinics
  • Financial Advisors (Coming Soon)
  • Legal Services (Coming Soon)

Here’s what you need to know:

  • No keywords are required.
  • Professional ads will trigger queries such as brand name, service type, etc.
  • Downloadable standard performance reports by keyword, ad, or campaign.
  • Professional Service ads are open to direct service providers and aggregators.
  • You can track your conversions.
  • You can leverage standard targeting and bid modifiers in your campaign: remarketing, in-market audience, location, etc.

Auction for Professional Ads is independent of Text Ads. It will require the creation of a separate ad campaign, but this will allow you to participate in both Text Ad auctions and professional service ad auctions to create variety in your reach.

Best Practices

Here’s some quick expert advice regarding bids, budgets, and targeting.

Bids and Budgets

To ensure consistent learning and optimization results, we recommend starting with $100-$500 per day.

The starting bid should be within the range of $2.50-$4.00. Adjust bids accordingly based on average position and performance.

Targeting

In campaign settings, you must set location targeting to the appropriate markets. With this, you will ensure that your ads are visible to all users who search in markets where you offer your professional services.

You must measure and monitor baseline performance and then fine-tune the return on investment based on audiences.

FAQ

Can I provide multiple bids for different professional service offerings?

At the moment, there is only one bid per ad group. There will be different bids for professional service offerings if they are associated with different ad groups and the ad groups have different bids.

Is there audience targeting support?

Yes, you can apply any existing audiences for this campaign, just like with your other text ad campaigns.

Can I track conversions on my end?

Yes, you can define the tracking template and custom parameters in the campaign setting, provide parameter values per row in the feed file, or provide your own final URLs per row in the feed if you’re using a third-party tracker.

Is there an API available for Professional Service Ads?

Currently no.

How do I access the Performance Reports?

You can download standard performance reports via the Reports page by keyword, ad, or campaign. Feed items reporting is also available in Dynamic Data Feeds.
